INUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board
PLACE: Common Council Chambers, 3rd floor, City Hall, 108 East Green Street, Ithaca
TIME / DATE January 26, 2006 at 3:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Commissioners Laskowitz, Slattery, Whispell, Flannery, Hill, Wigden, Common Council Liaison
Maria Coles, Deputy Chief John Curatolo, Nancy Falconer, staff. Excused; Chavonte tins, Ron
Passmore, Herb Nelson 4
The meeting was called to order at 3:30 PM.
1. Election of Chair and Vice Chair for 2006
Motion made by Jonathan Laskowitz and seconded by Dan Slattery to reappoi 4-Rden as C
Ron Passmore as Vice Chair. Approved unanimously. l
2. Approval of Minutes of December 22, 2005
.. Motion made by Dan Slattery and seconded by Flannery. Minutes were approved unanimously.
3. Comments by Public
No one from the public was in attendance.
4. Report From Common Council
Maria Coles has been appointed the new liaison from Common Council to the Community Police
Board. There was no further report.

5. Report From the Police Department
a) Discussion of the upcoming Awards Dinner on February 7 to which Board and others are invited.
b) Motion made by Laskowitz to adjourn to Executive session to discuss internal police department matters
and investigations.
6. Return to Public Session
One investigation was closed, vote founded, unanimous.
7. New Business
a) Discussion and arrangements for tabling at the Chili Fest on the Commons February 18 if weather allows.
Jonathan Laskowitz, Bob Wigden and Kerry Flannery will take turns st the table
b) Chair asked that letter of thanks and recognition be written to Deputy Chief Haus, who is retiring from the
department
8. Old Business.
Staff requested that Board members check on the need for replenishing their appointed distribution spots for
brochures and complaint forms and report back.
