Green Street Ithaca,NY 14850 Re: Letter from Challenge, 2/25/05 and meeting of the DAC, 3/2/05 Dear Members: The Disability Advisory Council (DAC) supports the requests made in the attached letter. We agree that pedestrian crossing at Challenge is very problematic, as described, and needs immediate attention. The Board of Public Works and the department should work with Challenge and the MR/DD subcommittee to address the concerns raised and their requests. We suggest that a representative of Challenge and the MR/DD subcommittee be invited to address the BPW. Lastly, the DAC suggests that the use of traffic calming devices be considered as one of a series of possible solutions to this problem. Sincerely, Larry Roberts Chair and liaison to the BPW
