MINUTES: Ithaca Commumnity Police Board
PLACE: Common Council Chambers, third floor, City Hall, 108 East Green
TIME/DATE: September 22, 2005 at 3:30 pm
PRESENT: Commissioners Laskowitz, Slattery, Passmore, Whispell, Flannery,
Hill, Nelson, Chief Lauren Signer; Nancy Falconer, Staff. Excused: Wigden,
Guest: Chevante Perkins. Absent, Gayraud Townsend (CC Council Liaison.)

Chevante Perkins entered at 3:45 and stated that she had filled in the application for the youth position as a Board
member, and would turn it in today. She would like to come to the apple Harvest and join our table.
1. Approval of Minutes of August 25, 2005
.. Moved by Dan Slattery and second by Flannery. Minutes were approved unanimously.
2. Comments by Public
No one from the public was in attendance.
3. Report From Common Council
Common Council was not present.
4. Report From the Police Department
a) Discussion of criminal activities in past week.
b) Two new officers were sworn in this week, and two more will be entering next week.
5. Old Business
a) Tabling at Apple Festival will be done by CPB on Sat. October 7. Dan Slattery will assist in setting up and
staying until Ron Passmore comes. Hours to be 12 to 4pm Sat Oct 7.
6. New Business
The purchase of official polo shirts for staff was discussed and decided upon. Staff is to order ASAP.
7. Adiournment to Executive Session , to discuss open investigations. Motion made by Commissioner Laskowitz,
second by Slattery. Four cases were discussed.
1) This complaint was not founded. Vote by Wigden, Laskowitz, Slattery, Flannery Hill and Passmore Nelson.
2) Complaint held over because Complainant requested extra time. ( Wigden investigation)
3) Complainant has not returned calls, write him to that effect and close after two weeks.
4) Complainant investigation is not complete, carry over to next month. ( Whispell and Hill)
