MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board
PLACE: 108 E. Green Street, City Hall, Common Council Chambers, 3rd floor
DATE & TIME: 3:30 PM August 25, 2005
PRESENT: Commissioners Whispell, Flannery, Hill, Slattery, Wigden, Laskowitz, Passmore.
Excused: Commissioner Nelson. Absent: Gayraud Townsend (Common Council Liaison)
1. Approval of Minutes of July 28, 2005 meeting: Corrected spelling of names to Satomi Hill and
Kerry Flannery. Motion to approve as corrected by Ron Passmore, second by Dan Whispell.
Approval unanimous.
2. Comments by the Public:
No guests were present.
3. Report from Common Council
Common Council Liaison was absent.
4. Report from the Police Department
Police were not in attendance.
5. Old Business
a) Tabling at Raceday on the Commons was done for several hours on Saturday.
b) Walmart has given the Board a gift certificate for 4 cans of helium to be used for tablings.
6.New Business
a) Tabling will be done this coming Saturday for Colleges on the Commons with participation by
Dan Slattery and Bob Wigden.
b) The forms for Compliments /complaints and brochures were dropped off by Staff and each Board
member was given designated places to take them to.
7.Motion was made to adjourn to Executive session by Ron Passmore.
to discuss the current four complaints .
1. Case was closed as unfounded. Unanimous vote by Hill, Passmore, Slattery,Wigden,
Whispell,Laskowitz and Flannery. No abstentions.
2. Investigator has not been able to reach the police officer involved,; investigation being held
over for further attempts to resolve.
3. Unfounded, unanimous, referred elsewhere, closed.
4. New complaint assigned to Hill and Whispell
8. Meeting returned to public meeting and adjourned.
