MINUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board
PLACE: 108 E. Green Street, City Hall, Common Council Chambers, 3rd floor
DATE & TIME: 3:30 PM March 24, 2005
PRESENT: Commissioners Whispell, Flannery, Hill, Slattery, Wigden, Laskowitz, Chief Signer,
Deputy Chief Curatolo. Guest: Kevin Slattery.
Staff, Nancy Falconer Excused: Commissioner Nelson. Absent: Gayraud Townsend (Common
Council Liaison)
1. Approval of Minutes of February 24, 2005 meeting: Corrected to read: guest: Rick Livingston
Lockner , and Common Council spelling corrected to Gayraud. Motion to approve as corrected by
Kerry Flannigan, second by Dan Whispell. Approval unanimous.
2. Comments by the Public:
Kevin Slattery, Dan Slattery's nephew, was present to observe. He spoke briefly about his
intentions to join the police force after his Navy assignment is concluded.
3. Report from Common Council
Common Council Liaison was absent.
4. Report from the Police Department
Positions have been offered to three candidates to fill some of the five positions open in time for
them to start the scheduled training next week.
The department is planning for a more pronounced presence at Slope Day and IC end of season

5. Old Business
a) Tabling schedules for the Commons were handed out and decided upon for the coming season.
b) Reports on ride alongs were discussed. Commissioners Passmore, Hill, Flannery, Nelson and
staff Falconer participated in ride alongs this past month.
6.New Business
a) Approval was given by Board to present plaques for long time Board members.
7.Motion was made to adjourn, with no investigations needing to be discussed. By Passmore,
second by Laskowitz
