COMMUNITY POLICE BOARD MEETING
RE: MINUTES- DRAFT
DATE: December 16, 2004
TIME: 3:30 pm
PLACE: CITY HALL, 108 EAST GREEN STREET, Second floor conference
room.
Present: — Commissioners Wigden, Laskowitz,Slattery,Passmore, Gayraud
Townsend (CCLiaison) , Staff, Nancy Falconer. Excused: D. Whispell, H.
Nelson, Chief Signer. Public: Charles Broughton, Kerry Flannery and
Satomi Hill.
Meeting was called at 3:35 p.m.
Members of the public, who had attended because of interest in becoming
members, were introduced and Chair gave a brief overview of the function
of the Board.
1. November 18, 2004 minutes were approved. Motion by R. Passmore,
second by Jon Laskowitz, passed unanimously.
• 2. Comments from the Public:
Questions re the operations of the Board were discussed and staff was
asked to send pertinent written information to them.
3. Report from Common Council:
Common Council Liaison reported on current issues from Council
meetings.
4.Report from Police Department:
No one was present from the police department.
5.Old Business:
a) Staff reported that Ithaca Journal article re the need for new members
was published, and had resulted in the three citizens attending today
b) Staff office hours at GIAC have been changed to 1:30 to 5:30
Wednesdays, and these have been posted at the door of GIAC office.
6. New Business
a) Discussion of the use of free radio publicity time and sending articles
to the CU Sun and to the IC newspaper, the Ithacan.
• A.) Adjournment to Executive Session to discuss current investigation of
one complaint: Motion by D. Slattery, second by J. Laskowitz. No action
taken. Return to Public Session; Adjournment
