RE: MINUTES
DATE: August 26, 2004
TIME: 3:30 pm
PLACE: CITY HALL, 108 EAST GREEN STREET, Common Council Chambers
Present: Commissioners Laskowitz, Slattery, Passmore, Nelson, Whispell, Wigden; Staff,
Nancy Falconer. Guest Patricia Dunn, Asst City Atty; Chief Lauren Signer, Deputy Chief T.
Graziani. Absent: Gayraud Townsend, Common Council Liaison.
Meeting was called at 3:35 p.m.
1. Approval of minutes
July 22, 2004 minutes were approved unanimously, moved by Passmore, second by Nelson.
2. Comments by invited quest
Atty Dunn distributed copies of the city code pertaining to appeals of decisions not to renew
taxi driver licenses and discussed the necessary persons to be present a separate hearing for
the matter. A date was set and approved by members for the 2nd of September, at Common
Council Chambers at 2 pm. for a hearing on the appeal of Kathy Seymour.
3. Report from Common Council:
Common Council liaison was not present.
4. Report by the Police Department
Deputy Chief Graziani was introduced. His is a temporary (3 month) hiring. Discussion
followed: re goals of the police department for that period. The permanent position will be filled
atth& *nd of the three months.
5.Old Business:
a) A tentative date for the dinner for police and firemen was rescheduled for November 5,
2004.
7. New Business: No action taken.
8.) Adjournment to Executive Session: Motion by D. Slattery, second by J. Laskowitz.
Return to Public Session. Report on results of 2 current investigations.

b.) Investigation 2: Closed, voted unfounded, unanimously.
