M INUTES: Ithaca Community Police Board
PLACE: City Hall, 108 East Green St. third floor in Council Chambers
TIME / DATE: May 27, 2004 at 3:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Commissioners Wigden, Laskowitz, Slattery, Dill, Whispell, Nelson;
Chief Victor Loo, Gayraud Townsend, Council Liaison Nancy Falconer, staff
Excused: Passmore,
The meeting was called to order at 3:30 PM.
1. Approval of Minutes of April 22, 2004

2. Comments by Public

3. Report From Common Council
4. Report From the Police Department
a) Sr week at CU has been calmer this year.
b) Several retirements occurring soon: Officer Pete Tyler, Deputy Chief Barnes.
c) Ithaca College is in process of planning an on campus celebration for next year's end of year week.
5. Old Business
a) Dinner for police and firemen is arranged for June 24. Invitations need to be sent out asap.
b) Meeting for June is changed from the 24th to the 17th June.
c) Handouts of complaints by type for last 5 or 6 years. Suggestion that some be combined that are very similar,
and the lists be combined and about 70 copies made. Commissioner Slattery will present the list to police force
when ready.
6. New Business
a) Tabling for Ithaca Festival discussed and decision not to participate. Tabling for GIAC celebration on the 12th
June starts at noon, will go until 3pm. Commissioner Wigden will help set up and stay until 1 pm;
C ommissioner Laskowitz will help from 1 -3 pm
7. Adjournment to Executive Session, motion made by Commissioner Nelson, second by Slattery.
8.Return to Public Session
Three complaints were discussed in Executive Session:

3. New investigation assigned.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:55 PM.
