Excused: Commissioners Rovelstad, Passmore, Alderperson Pryor, Guests: Ilonka Vloch and Tammy Baker Absent: Acting Chief Lauren Signer The meeting was called to order at 3:35 PM. 1. Approval of Minutes of January 23, 2003 The minutes were approved unanimously. Motion by Commissioner Whispell, second by Laskowitz. Voted for: Commissioners Laskowitz, Whispell, Wigden, Nelson, McGruder. Against: None. 2. Comments by Public No one from the public was present to speak. 3. Report From Common Council No report was given. 4.Report From the Police Department No action taken. 5. Old Business a) Tammy Baker and Ilonka Vloch presented the outline for the upcoming workshops to include the police officers and community members. Action taken: Motion made by Commissioner Laskowitz for the Board to contribute $150.00 from its budget under the `outreach' line toward refreshments for the nine workshops. Voted for: Whispell, Laskowitz, Wigden, McGruder, and Nelson; against; none, abstentions, none. Passed unanimously. b) Handouts of statistics for the past several years. No action taken. 6. New Business No new business. 7. Adjournment to Executive Session Two complaints were discussed and decided. One other complaint was discussed and carrtied over to the next meeting. 8.Return to public session to report on complaint decisions: Complaint #1 ( incorrect wording of police report) Action: Voted unfounded: Wigden, Laskowitz, McGruder, Whispell, Nelson Founded: None Abstentions: None Complaint # 2: (Procedure re issuing ticket) Action: Conciliated between complainant and police. Complaint # 3 : Action taken: Voted to send letter stating investigator has been unable to reach the complainant, and allowing two weeks to respond before closing investigation. Voted for: Wigden, Laskowitz, McGruder, Whispell, Nelson. Passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 pm. Motion made by Commissioner Laskowitz , passed unanimously.
