feet in front of the vehicle and vhich shall project
-white or yellow light,and one lighted lamp on the rear,
which shall display a red light visible from the rear
for - distance of at least five hundred feet; and shall
illtmina.te the number plate carried on the rear of such
vehicle in such manner as to render the numbers legible
at least fifty feet distant. All lamps used on motor
vehicles shall be arranged, adjusted and operated
as to avoid dangerous glare or dazzle. No lamp having a
light source greater than that permitted by the N.Y.State
Vehicle & Traffic Law shall be used on a motor vehicle.
No vehicle shall stand on a public street or thoroughfare
of the City of Ithaca from one half hour after sunset
until one half hour before sunrise without displaying on
said vehicle one red light to the rear and two white or
yellow lights to the front, except in areas lighted by
boulevard lights.
No vehicle shall be permitted to stand on any
City street in the congested business districts, termed
the fire limits, or on any paved street in the City of
Ith,-,ca between the hoyrs of 1:'0 A.I. and 6:00 A.L.,for
a longer period of time than one hour, provided however
that this restriction shall not apply to the vehicles of
the Fire Department, Police Department, Department of
Public Works, Department of Health, Public Service Corpora-
tions or duly licensed Physicians, while the same are
being used in the performance of official or professional
dut! e s .
No person shall operate a motor truck on a public
street or thoroughfare of the City of Ithaca. unless there
shall be suspended from the left side of saki truck a
mirror which shall be in a. position to enable the driver
thereof to see five hiuidred feet to .tile rear of tile truck.
Violation of this ordinance shall constitute
disorderly conduct.

BE IT ETTAQTED by the Co►miion Council
of tine .City of Ithaca as follows: i
Sec.l. The last sentence of the last
paragraph of Sec.154 of Clia10.503 of the
Laris of 1908,entitled "An Act to consolidate
and revise the several acts relative to the
City of Ithaca, 1' as amended_ by Clla.p. 42F of.
the Lars of 1916 and by Chap. 387 of tine
Lriwg. of 1920 and by Local Late ji l of 1929, is
hereby superseded and. enacted as Local Law
to read as follows
Sec.l511-......... The Co2-,x ion Council f
may nrescri.be and apportion deferred payments,!
make such reglulations ac may be deemed
advisable for the payment thereof, and pro-
vide for a percentage addition to any such
deferred payments at a rate to be determined
and fixed by sa.ic? Council, together with any
fees and expenses rhich r_nay be incurred in
connection therewith, to be coll__ected in the `
manner provided for the enforcement, levy
-and. collection of City taxes. j

Account and that, effective as of January 1,1931 and

At the request of the City -Attorney, the I
Council on motion went into Executive Session.
Reinhardt,
Case Attorney Treman reported that 'the suit I
brought in Supreme Court by 1.1i. '& Lirs. Reinhardt
against the City had resulted in a verdict of
1'225 for i;Irs. Reinhardt and one of #281 for
1-7r. Reinhardt for his actual expenses, and that
the Plaintiff Is Attorney had moved for a new
trial, but that they had_ also agreed to settle
with the City on the basis of the verdict_ received
plus costs. j

advertised, on the petition of Fay I. Giddings
for consent to overate a Motor Bus line over
certain streets in the City of Ithaca. No
persons appeared in relation to such petition.

RESOLVED: that the petition of Fay I.
Giddings be and the same is Hereby approved
and ordered_ filed_ and the Co:.• on Council hereby
gives consent to use the streets as therein
designated, to wit: From the Bus Terminal on
East Green Street, proceeding. west on Green
Street to South Albany Street, south on South
Albany Street to Spencer Street ancL on Spencer
Street to the City line, returning; over the
same route;for the operation of a ;rotor Bus Line,
as setforth in saic. petition, subject horever/ to
the approval of said petition by the Public
Service Commission, and subject also to such
Rules & Regulations for the operation of such
a service as the Co _: _ion Council has or may
hereafter adopt and establish.

Mayor Bergholtz announced that he had
received the resignation of Fred Atvrater as
member of the Planning Commission, who had been

agreed on the 20th for this date and sug vested
