The I.ia.vor ^nnounced the particular business
of the retiring; Council to be thereceipt of
the Annural Reports forthe prtst year of those
City Officirals aq were able to rake such
report^nt this time.

The retiring ifa.yor addressed the Council
and visitor:, in review of the work rind
accomp:lishrlents of the 'retiring; a,drnini.strntion.
and thanked the Council and all other_ officer.Q
for their erarnest efforts, hearty co-operation
and good fellowship.
He then a.ddres;,ec?, hic remarks to
Mayor Herman Rertzholts,, a.nd welcomed him to his
seat a s ia?ror, tendering his navel and bad go
as emblem of authority.
Mayor Bergholtz took his seat as Chief
Executive of the City thanking the retiring
Mayev for his kind remarks and expressing the
hope that with the co --operation of all the
people would not be disn.ppointed in their
selection for the management of their City
Government. Iie then addressed his first
Message to the Council recommending various
improvements expecially the revision of their
valuations and the installation of a new cost
accounting system ; also announcing that he
would soon present a new plan for financing
public improvements by assessments.
Evans & Miller
Commissioners At the conclusion of his remarks the Mayor
announced the appointment of Fred C. Evans,
as Commissioner and member of the Board of
Public Works for the ensuing term of 5 years
and Thomas G. Miller for the ensuing term of
6 years, and asked for approval by the Council.

RESOLVED: that the appointment of
Fred C. Evans for a term of 5 years and
Thomas G. Miller for a term of 6 yea.ra as Com-
missioners and Members of the Board of Public
Works be and the same is hereby approved and
confirmed.

Training
Tower.
Fire Com:_issioner, W.L. Burns and Chief Reilly
appeared before the Conion Council asking permission
to apply the estimated balance of their appropriation
amounting to about $3,000. for the construction of a
Training Tower.
By Alderman Gill:seconded by Alderman Myers:
RESOLVED: that the matter of the construction
of a Training Tower be referred to the Fire Commissioners
with power providing funds are available from their
current appropriation

Dog
License
Mr. Hutchinson,President of the S.P.C.A.,
Law
appeared before the Council asking that the Mayor be
authorized to execute the contract with the said Society
for the execution of the law relating to the issuing of
Dog Licenses, etc. for the ensuing year.

RESOLVED: that the Mayor be authorized to
execute contract with the S.P.C.A. for the administration
of the Dog hIwense Law for the ensuing year.
Adopted.
By Alderman Lowe:seconded by Alderman Causer:
RESOLVED: that the audit submitted by the
Finance Committee be approved and payment of
bills directed.
Carried.
The Mayor announced that the usual Annub.l Meeting
will be held January 1st at 10 A.M.
