Teeds,etc.
RESOLVED: that the Common Council hereby amends
and enacts the following ordinance, to be known as
Section 29 of Chap. II , to take effect upon publication
and to read as follows:
Section 29, WEEDS,TRASH,R.UBBISH,ETC. No person,
either as owner,l.essee;agent,tenant or otherwise,of any
lot,land,premises or improved property in the City of
Ithaca, shall throw, cast,deposit or allow to accumulate
thereon, any decomposable organic matter which might
create a. nuisance or act as a breeding place for flies
or bugs or as food for rats or vermin ; or anytrash or
discarded material or thing capable of holding water
which which might serve as a breeding place for
mosquitoes,; or any combustible matter or material
which might increase the fire hazard in his or.neighboring
property ;,or any weeds, high grass, trash, rubbish,junk
or any discarded material or thing which tends . to ,produce
an unsightly disagreeable ap;�earance objectionable to
the neighborhood.
Notwithstanding the provisions of this Section,
nothing herein contained shall be construed to,prohibit,
the proper and temporary accumulation in suitable
containers, of garbage, ashes, refuse etc. ,for regular
collection,; or the depositing of manure for the
immediate cultivation of land ; or the lawful collection
and storage of junk by regularly licensed junk dealers.
Violation of this ordinance constitutes
disorderly conduct.

RESOLVED: that the Common Council hereby ordains
and enacts the following ordinance to be known as
Section 23 of Chapter VIII to take effect upon publication
and to read as follows :
SECTION 23. OIL BURNERS. No person shall
install, cause or permit to be installed, any furnace oil
burning equipment in any structure within the fire limits
of'the City of Ithaca, or in any structure other than a
private residence outside of the fire limits in the City
of'Itha.ca without first procuring a permit so to do
from the Fire Barshall.
Violation of this ordinance shall
constitute disorderly conduct.
Adopted.

Complaint Frank Yiingert residing at 4300 N. Tioga. St.,
next to Williams Hall of the Ithaca Coneervt_tory
entered a coz:plaint against the i."az:ager�ent of the
Conservatory in miai nta ining a nuisance, by allowing
unhealthy and dangerous conditions to exist with

The matter was referrer to the Police

Street petitioned the Council to amend the
Zoning Ordinance and place this property in a
business district in stead of the 1131' residence

In accordance with the Zoning Ordinance
the matter was referred to the Planning Commission
for repo.. t and recom en:-ation.
Taxes
Expunged. A comr:.unication, appended herewith, was
received from the City Assessor recomY:ending that
96.08 be expunged from the 1929 Tax Roll due to
errors in assesmment of properties as listed.

same is hereby expunged from the 1920 City Tax Roll.
Smoke
Nuisance Attorney Heath reported that he knew no
better method of ordinance for regulating the
"Smoke Nuisance" than the one now in force and
would enlist the expert services of Professor
Sawd.on and make a test case of tie ordinance
as it stands.

RESOLVED: that pursuant to Sec.66 of the
Election Law, the Common Council hereby designates
the following; places in each of the Flecti.on Districts
in the City of Ithaca for registration and election.

RESOLVED: that in accordance with said
section, that in case any place hereby designated
cannot for any reason be used for such purpose,
the City Clerk is hereby_ authorized. and directed
to secure and forthwith designate another suitable
place instead thereof.
