Lot Cemetery
A communication was received from Willard F.
Place requesting the City to sell a lot in the
City Cemetery,block C. lot #36 adjoining the
John Gauntlett lot,for the purpose of joining the
two and improving the whole. Mr. Place agreeing to
accept Deed subject to any prior sale which may
have been made. Any such sale being without record
and unknown to the City.

To the Common Council,
Gentlemen :
71HEREAS, a. petition of property owners
interested in the proposed improvement of tree
North Tioga Street Bridge over Cascadilla Creek
has been received by the Board of Public Works,
requesting the complete reconstruction of the
sidewalks on the bridge with concrete railings
similar to the other bridges over Cascadilla
Creek, instead of metely laying a new concrete
floor as is now planned, and
W HEREASj the Board realizes the
advantages in completing this improvement while
the bridge is under repair and further,desires to
co-operate with the property owners in improving
the bridge not only in appearance but in safety
and durability, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Public
Works hereby recommends -t6 Fitt Coune-i L aa.t
$1,500 be appropriated for the completion of the
N. Tioga Street bridge, with new walks and
concrete railings.

RESOLVED: that the Common Council hereby amends
and enacts the following ordinance, to be known as
Section 29 of Chap. II , to take effect upon publication
and to read as follows:
Section 29. WE"FDS,TRASH,RUBBISH,ETC. No person,
either as owner,lessee'agent,tena,nt or otherwise,of any
lot,land,premises or improved property in the City of
Ithaca, shall throw, cast,deposit or allow to accumulate
thereon, any decomposable organic matter which might
create a. nuisance or act as a, breeding place for flip;;
or bugs or as food for rats or vermin ; or a.ny,trash or
discarded material or thing capable of holding water
which which might serve as a breeding place for
mosquitoes,; or any combustible matter or material
which might increase the fire hazard in his or.neighboring
property ;.or any weeds, high grass, trash, rubbish,junk
or any discarded material or thing which tends.to.p roduce
an unsightly disagreeable appearance objectionable to
the neighborhood.
Notwithstanding the provisions of this Section,
nothing herein contained shall be construed to,prohibit,
the proper.a.nd temporary accumulation in suitable
containers, of garbage, ashes, refuse etc.,for regLzla,r
col,_ectian.; or the depositing of manure for the
immediate cultivation of land ; or the lawful collection
and storage of junk by regularly licensed junk dealers.
Violation of this ordinance constitutes
disorderly.conduct.

and enacts the following ordinance to be known. as
Section 23 of Chapter VIII to take effect upon publication
and to read as follows :
SECTION 23. OIL BURNERS. No person shall
install, cause or permit to be installed, any furnace oil
burning equipment in any structure within the fire limits
of the City of Ithaca., or in any structure other than a
private residence outside of the fire limits in the City
of Ithaca. without first procuring a permit so to do
from the Fire 111a.rshall.
Violation of this ordinance shall
constitute disorderly conduct.
