1. Planning- Discussion of reconfiguration of Spencer -S. Meadow intersection. This
was recognized as an important bike alternate to Rt. 13, and the recommendation
was that bike notch was kept for north bound bikes and that south bound bikes are
allowed to take a left to continue on the route.
2. "South of creek" traffic calming -No real consensus yet. There will be another
meeting with neighborhood in April. It will be announced on the listserve and it
is requested that a BPAC member attend.
3. Coddington Road expansion —There was a brief discussion, with no official
statement as it is Town of Ithaca. With more information, BPAC will respond as
appropriate.
4. Educational campaign and grant- Freedman has prepared a draft of a proposal to
the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) for safety items and pamphlets.
Proposal must be submitted to the county before GTSC by mid -May. Main
comment on proposal is to include administrative /overhead costs. BPAC
approves general ideas, a draft will be posted to listserve and comments
incorporated.
5. Bike friendly community application - Application process begun by French.
Some application questions answered, others will be posted to listserve. BPAC
decides to devote a future meeting with Kent or Tim to discuss engineering
questions.
6. Drive Not To Drive - Announced as starting April 20. BPAC supports.
7. Recruiting Posters -Two drafts presented. Main comment is to include
website /contact info. Further comments can be submitted. Posters will be
finalized next meeting.
8. Safe Routes to School -Tim summary to the listserve discussed.
9. Meeting time - Changing the future meeting time is discussed. Priority is given to
a time that Kent and /or Tim can attend. Their input necessary.
