(BPAC meetings occur on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7 -9PM in the 2nd floor
conference room in City Hall and are open to the public)
Attendance:
Dave Nutter, David Kay, Carla Shafer, Steve Culman, Jan Zeserson, Paul Adkins,
Jennifer Dotson, Tim Logue, Nicole Tedesco, Kent Johnson
(Note: Since there is currently no full -time chairperson, Carla Shafer was the acting
chair)
1. The meeting began with the handing out of the draft bicycle parking ordinance - it was
discussed very briefly at the end of the meeting and its contents will be posted (soon) on
the Wiki for comment.
2. Next, the plans for an uphill bicycle lane on E. State St. were discussed. Though details
remain to be resolved, the concept seemed to be unanimously supported.
3. Cornell is in the process of developing a new master plan and BPAC members are
urged to submit comments about bicycle and pedestrian issues at
www.mastelplan.comell.edu. THE DEADLINE FOR THIS ROUND OF CITIZENS'
COMMENTS IS FEBRUARY 23, SO ACT QUICKLY.
4. Carla then led a "fun, short" activity in which those in attendance wrote topics of
interest on post -it notes. These notes were then organized by theme and revealed key
focus topics for targeted effort.
Key topic areas include:
- Infrastructure
- Advocacy on behalf of citizens
- Public involvement /promotion
- Procedure, planning and data collection
- Enforcement

S. There was a groundswell of interest in reinvigorating our BPAC Wiki site which was
launched for BPAC in Feb. 2006. Carla will send members instructions about how to
login in order to contribute to the site.
6. Finally, as mentioned above, the topic of the bicycle parking ordinance was briefly
discussed.
The rotating chair assignments are as follows (or until a full -time chair can be appointed):
