Neighborhood Public Safety Meeting. There were presentations by Cameron Younger, Amanda Olberg and a video
presentation of “I have a Dream”. The media was there and it was great! Tonight is a public hearing about the public
smoking policy.
GIAC (Joan Spielholz): Absent – No Report – Nancy stated that GIAC has been receiving some phone calls that are
threatening and this has been going on since January and Common Council is now aware of this. This was race related and
the community seems to be pulling together to put an end to this and to show this is not going to be tolerated. Allen stated
that there have been a few other incidents at other places in the City and if this happens this should be reported to City Hall
immediately. Construction work at Giac is going well and is actually ahead of schedule.

Discovery Program and Linda is very excited about this for her program.

handed out for recruitment, and she will send this out via email to board members.
Staff Relations: (Not Active):

BYLAWS & DUTIES: Jen will put together a meeting for the committee to meet after the holidays.
New Business:
2010 Board Officers: Jen Mainville has declined the nomination as Co-Chair at this time.
Chair: Chris Milner
Co-Chair: Lizzy Noonan-Pomada was nominated - Nancy Schuler made the motion Bill Murphy 2nd
Treasurer: Bill Murphy
All the above officers were voted on and all were in favor.
Open House: (Jen) – Jen handed out a flyer and suggested that we do an Open House as there is a large amount of interest in
having one. Jen suggested that the Advisory Board be the host of an open house. Jen has spoken with some staff members to
get ideas and welcomes more ideas from Board Members regarding this. Should there be a committee put together for this?
A suggestion was made that each program from the Youth Bureau put together a table that has information regarding their
particular program. The Advisory Board part would be more of logistics. This open house could be open to anyone but also
should be targeted to a specific “range” of people.
