Meeting Minutes
Attendance: Gabriele Weber, Valerie Weber, Lizzy Noonan-Pomada and William Murphy.
Staff: Allen Green and Jody Hallett-Harris.
Excused: Cameron Younger, Jeri Gallucci, Jen Mainville, Chris Milner, Nancy Schuler and Joan Spielholz.
Absent: Nancy Zook

Meeting called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Gabriele Weber
Review and approval of Minutes:
The Minutes of September 14, 2009 w ere approved. William Murphy made the motion to approve the minutes and Valerie
Weber 2nd the motion. All were in favor.
Officer’s Reports:
Common Council (Nancy Schuler): Excused – No Report
GIAC (Joan Spielholz): Excused – No Report
Tompkins County Youth Services (Nancy Zook): Absent - No Report
Southside Community Center (Kirtrina Baxter): Excused – No Report
Staff and Committee Reports:
Staff Reports: Allen did a brief budget review of both County and City wide budget effects. At the County level, on
Thursday, October 15, 2009 there will be motions RE: the over-target requests. The requests from the IYB are from, The
Recreation Partnership, BBBS and YES Program. These over-target requests should be voted on in the upcoming weeks. At
the City level, the Cass Park replacement of the refrigeration system was included as a Capital Project in the 2010 Budget.
The City will be very strict on filling vacant positions, unless there is funding coming in to cover a position.
The Friends of the Youth Bureau and some staff members and board members from the Youth Bureau met recently. Amanda
Olberg, Vista worker, has been working very hard on getting the Friends of the Youth Bureau certified as a 501( c) (3) and
she has filed the Certificate of Incorporation with the State. She is currently working on putting together the By-laws.
Advisory Board Committees:
Recreation: (Chris Milner): Excused – No Report
Youth Development (Gabriele Weber/Jen Mainville): Jen Mainville and Jeri have completed the Monitoring Sessions of
Computer All Stars Program and this shall be put on next month’s Agenda for review.
Finance (Chris Milner/Gabriele Weber): Allen reviewed the budget, as noted earlier.

Operations/Facilities: (Bill Murphy): Nothing to Report
Recruitment/Training/Orientation (Jeri Gallucci, Cameron Younger, Bill Murphy): Bill would like to have a meeting and
really go forward with recruitment. Gabriele asked that an ad be placed in the Ithaca Times for positions on the Board. Jody
is to check with Julie at Clerk’s Office and see if there are openings on other City Boards and possibly have an ad put in for
this.
Staff Relations: (Not Active):
Unfinished Business:
Monitoring session of Computer All Stars Program will be reviewed at next month’s meeting.
New Business:
2010 Board Meeting dates were approved.
Jody showed the members the long-sleeved shirts that the Ithaca Youth Bureau is selling at a cost of $10.00 each.
