01. Call to Order by R. DePaolo at 7:40.
02. Agenda Additions and/or Deletions: none.
03. Public Comments: none.
04. Request from New Roots Charter School (grades 9 to 12) [see attached]. The video teacher's
class would like to work in the PEG TV studio every Thursday for 3 hours. There are 8 children,
4 of them from outside the county (the charter school is located in Tompkins County, in the City
of Ithaca, but is not limited to the county). The students have video cameras and can edit. They
are committed to make a video magazine for the public, centered around the school, for
broadcast. The principal will pay the $100 fee established for organizations wishing to get studio
training and use PEG facilities.
DePaolo: The franchise allows AOC to decide to let the group use the studio facilities.
Van Leuken: there is a precedent, since a city staff member lives outside the county but has
received training for programming at PEG in her capacity as a city worker.
AOC reviewed the request and concurred that training high - school students by the Access
Coordinator is an appropriate use of the facility, and so directed staff. Similar requests will be
reviewed on a case -by -case basis.
