-The Board has agreed to use the ICC examination
-Monroe Makowsky (new inspector) will take exam for his licensing approval and will report
back
-Chris will be reaching out to ICC to confirm process
-The Board has agreed that review and approval should be periodic throughout the year, and agreed
quarterly intervals would be ideal.
-The proposed order of events is:
1. Applicants have a due date to submit application
2. The board will review applicants; ideally, this would be done through OpenGov access
i. We could do a “majority vote” approval or a “If no one responds, inspector
approves”** system
3. After approval, applicants have 30 days to respond with a passing ICC exam grade
i. Text will read that individuals who have had a passing ICC exam grade with
30 days before will be viable applicants and grades can be applied
*Discussed delegation of Board activities to inspectors, as has been unofficially done previously
-Common Council has approved delegation of duties to electrical inspector(s), but this must be
done in writing with majority vote in public meeting.
146-34. Examining Board of Electricians. The Examining Board of Electricians (the Board),
appointed as provided in the City Charter, shall carry out its duties as hereinafter provided. The
Board may delegate routine duties to the Electrical Inspector, provided that such delegation is in
writing and made by a majority vote of the Board at a public meeting.
