Call to Order: David Kay 00:1:27 Announcement from Nick Goldsmith on the new Building Decarbonization Fund from the Park Foundation. The December meeting minutes were unanimously approved. Savannah Vega shared a summary and the goals of the IGND, as well as an update on the LEED program (the City achieved LEED for Cities Gold certification). 2. Public Comment 00:11:41 No public comment. 3. Announcements, Reports & Presentations 00:12:00 3.1 2024 Budget Recap 00:12:25 Rebecca Evans, Director of Sustainability. General budget recap for the IGND to-date and for 2024. This included: o Budget Sources to Date – including state, federal, philanthropic, city capital budget, local grant match, and total numbers. o 2024 Milestones o 200 buildings electrified, Justice50, Digital twins, Workforce and ICSD, LEED for Cities, and capital project allocation. Comments: Need a milestone to acknowledge the hydrogen project’s progress. 4. New Business: 00:27:38 4.1 Discussion: 2025 Workplan 00:27:38 Rebecca Evans, Director of Sustainability. Brief presentation of major 2025 projects. This included details of what needs to be done for each project. This included: o Climate Action Plan o Community Choice Aggregation o Announcement that our CCA administrator was approved by the Public Service Commission o CJC Survey o Workforce and ICSD Project o A General Timeline. Included a month-by-month plan to show what projects will be done when, broadly. Next, the Commission worked on creating a 2025 workplan for the Commission based on City priorities and Commission priorities. Siobhan Hull created a draft workplan which the Commission worked off of, with month-to-month plans for City Work, Commission Meeting Logistical Information, and Outside of Meeting work. o Notable Commission member comments: o Would like to host meeting in alternative location o Thinking through how many recommendations should be made to Council o Discussion on Climate Action Plan timeline and public outreach timeline o Worked through the first 1/4th of the year o Savannah Vega has planned leave mid-year, which will impact staff capacity 4.2 Commission Meeting Procedures – Full discussion put on hold until next meeting 01:25:45 Future discussion will include determining public comment rules, as the Commission wants to favor equity and fairness in how they deal with each public comment. The Commission does not have to follow the same rules as Common Council. 5. Meeting Wrap-up: David Kay 01:30:10 Next Meeting is scheduled for February 10th.
