Approval of the July 24, 2024, Community Police Board Meeting Minutes-
Resolution:
By Commissioner Korthuis: Seconded by Commissioner Wright RESOLVED, That the
minutes of the July 24, 2024, Community Police Board meeting be approved as
published.

Approval of the September 25, 2024, Community Police Board Meeting Minutes-
Resolution:
By Commissioner Bursic: Seconded by Commissioner Korthuis RESOLVED, That the
minutes of the September 25, 2024, Community Police Board meeting be approved as
published.

Report from the Police Department: Chief Kelly shares that IPD will be doing a Law
Enforcement Engagement Club activity at Ithaca High School, more details to come.
Chief shares that IPD Budget over target item is a renovation to the Women’s Locker
Room. Budgeting for IPD staffing discussion ensues, regarding previous years and the
CPB advocating for keeping staffing lines.
Conversation about the Homeless Shelter between IPD and board members.
Report from Staff:
We are missing one phone.
Chair Kane shares that we have a number of items that we asked our Common Council
representative about that we are waiting to hear back on. The group agrees to send a
letter to the mayor regarding the absence of our Council Representative from meetings.
Members of the student population attending the meeting ask what can be done to help
with the homelessness crisis on an individual level. Questions were also asked about
the budget process, and the effect it would have on IPD.
