COMMUNITY POLICE BOARD MINUTES
Regular Meeting 4:30 p.m. April 24, 2024

Morse.
Discussion continued with questions and comments from Board Members, CARE
Team, & Chief Kelly.
Approval of the March 27, 2024, Community Police Board Meeting Minutes-
Resolution:
By Commissioner Bursic: Seconded by Commissioner Onyejuruwa
RESOLVED, That the minutes of the March 27, 2024, Community Police Board meeting
be approved as published.
Carried Unanimously
Report from the Police Department:
Chief Kelly shares letters of appreciation from agencies and the community to members
of IPD; PIS Faraday will draft letters on behalf of CPB and send to the mentioned
Officers.
There have been community conversations between IPD members and residents, as
well as some with CJC. Community Healing meetings will be coming up, Chief will share
these meetings with the group.
REPORT FROM STAFF:
PIS Faraday shares that information came from NACOLE about our membership and
what it entails. She and Richard will get together to discuss how she can assist with
outreach efforts; online fillable application can go live. Will be helping out to support
recruitment with IPD via city website.
OLD BUSINESS
7.1 Outreach
Board member Onyejuruwa shares that he will be able to dedicate more time to this
effort as his work slows a bit, and he will be reaching with folks at the library. He will
extend information about how to assist.
