HomeMy WebLinkAboutMN-CPB-2022-4-27CITY OF ITHACA COMMUNITY POLICE BOARD MINUTES Regular Meeting 3:30 p.m. April 27, 2022 Present: Chair: Kane Commissioners: Beem-Miller, Rogers, Korthuis, Onyejuruwa, Simons, (arrived late) Wright Others Present: IPD Deputy Chief - Monticello Public Information Specialist - Faraday Absent: Common Council Liaison - McGonigal Excused: Approval of the March 23, 2022 Minutes: By Commissioner Rogers: Seconded by Commissioner Beem-Miller RESOLVED, That the March 23, 2022, Community Police Board minutes be approved as drafted. Carried Unanimously Report from the Police Department: DC Monticello reports that there has been a new hire, the individual is currently in Academy. Next week is “police Week” for the Southern Tier, honoring 37 officers from the region with a candle lighting and flag raising. The following week is National Police week. Still attempting to fill vacancies for 7 positions. Shares that there have been some internal compliments from the public, no complaints. Report from Staff: PIS Faraday shared that there were two compliments, will share with group via email. Meetings will be shifting to in-person soon. Commissioner Rogers asks about how to ensure that the letter from the Community Police Board regarding the Reimagining process be included in the Common Council minutes.
