HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter of Support 30 Sunset DriveHello Brent,
Please use this email as my statement of support for the variance request (26 Sunset Drive/
August 5, 2019) on the 10.9' setback proposed by Michael and Ayako Timmons.
The area forms a part of the "new lot" that the Timmons are seeking to transfer to me. This piece
of land is not safely accessible to them as a result of a retaining wall common to both properties
that cuts through the Timmons' property line (as the marked up Lot Line adjustment map from
your report on 07/26 shows), with the property on one side of this retaining wall (the Timmons'
side) quite significantly elevated over the other. As a result, their access to the property is
limited, and would - unreasonably - entail them coming in through the front entrance of my own
to gain the safest access to it! Consequently, this piece of yard has not been put to use in an
environmentally conscious way (through landscaping or planting trees) by either family resulting
in a strong patch of poison ivy springing up, and costs related to its clearing, and the clearing of
the brush that springs up, year after year. The smaller setback of 10.9' is not objectionable to me
in view of the safety risk, loss of an environmentally conscious opportunity and current lack of
common sense property zoning that the plot sale would seek to correct.
There is a good chance I will not be able to make it to the variance meeting on the 5th as a result
of work travels so please use this email as substitute even as my mother, Shanti Prasad, also a
resident of my household, will attend on my behalf. She is copied here.
Thank you,
Uttara
