Cross, Building Commissioner 312 Cayuga Heights Road As you can see from the attached (on back) letter, the owner's of the above referenced property have requested a refund of their zoning/building permit fee. Although I have invested an about an hour of time in the issuance of the permit(s), no follow-up inspections were performed since the work was never started. Therefore, I recommend that we grant a full refund of the fee as requested. Suggested Motion: The Board of Trustees hereby instructs the Village Clerk to issue a check in the amount of $600 to Danyel Logevall as a refund (in-full) oi fees paid for a zoning/building permit, dated 611105, on a project that has been abandoned before the workwls started. bc071505.docfile: July 11,2005 Village of CayugaHeights Officers Marcham Hall c/o Brent Cross 836 Hanshaw Road Ithaca,NY 14850-1548 Dear Village Officers, IVIy name is Danyel Logevall and my husband and I, along with our two young children, live in the village at31,2 Cayuga Heights Road. On June 1,20A5 we applied for, and were granted, a brriiding permit (#80531 - see attached copy) to put an addition on our house. It would have increased the living space ofthe house by about 900 square feet. We solicited bids from two contractors. Both wanted actual working plans in order to be able to give us an accurate bid. We worked with a local architect, Vince Mulcahy, and had the plans drawn up and approved by Brent Cross. Since receiving the bids, however, we've decided we simply cannot put such an amount of money into the project. We have only lived irr the area for about 1 year and were perhaps a bit naive about what such a project would cost. Thereforeo we've opted to abandon the project altogether and are requesting a refund of, the $600.00 that we spent on the building permit. We understand the amount of effort it takes to get the necessary paperwork and apologize for the inconvenience to the Board and to Mr. Cross. Thank you for your time.
