We had 45 runs in the 28 days of February. There *"ri 26 calls in the village , 12 calls q the town and 7 mutual aid calls. We had several motor vehicle crashes on lLoute 13 for the month due to the terrible weather in February. The mernbers of the fire deparhent continue to answer all alarms in a timely manner. Any time day or night, weekday or weekend there are members at the station read to respond to any type of call. There were 23 EMS calls and22 fire calls for the month. EMS calls continue to dominate our responses and the EMTs of the departnent excel at their tasks, Our training officers have been planning sorne dynamic training aiready this year. Last month we did a training led by AC Stocker on scene size up and initial radio reports as part of our plan for member development this spring. At this training firefighters were L"gm howio quickly size p u sce* and then to gle clear and concise initiat reports to resfonding uni*. We also had a vehicle extrication training in which we cut up two cars in itre back parking lot of the station. We put this training together due to our increase in calls for motor vehicle crashes on RL 13. A third training for the month was a watkthrough with Comell Environmental Health and Safety of the Comell b-uildings in our districi. We like to do this on a regular basis to refamiliarize ourselves with the high occupancy areas that we respond to. The month of April is going to prove extremely busy for our members in regards to training. On April 2nd our iniurance carrier will be at the station to teach an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course. On April 9tr we will have several firefighters from FDNY at the station to teach search tactics. These frefighters are friends of LT Magenhiems who volunteered to come up from the city to teach rri n.* tactics. On April 1lft-, 12th and 13ft the engineer from E-One will be here to train us on the new ladder tnrck. We will have EMS training on April 20h thatwill cover cold water emergency procedures and the on April 2gft wI wiil do a follow up search training to refresh on the lessons learned at the earlier training. I am looking forward to this busy month. Our frefighters love to train. ,, fI E[-P P R.E\/E,NT F tr RE,S" Ladder 231 is still on schedule to be delivered the second week in April. Our inspectiontrip was pushed back to April ls and 2"d due to an engineering problem with tle-engineon the truck. It was pulled off the production line in early March to ensure that theproblem was solved properly and then putt back on the production in mid March. Thetruck is now scheduled to ship from the pllant on April 4ft and be at the station no laterthen April 1lft for the training with the erygineer. We are looking forward to having thetruck in service by April l4m. The trucks ate allin good working order and the station looks great. The bunkrooms areall fuIl and the bd:ry are all fulfilling their obligations well. fu" *. looking forward toNorma Manning and Julie Ferris finishing the station beautification project ifearly April and invite everybody to come over and see the finished project.
