Subject: Fwd: Varna resolution on deer population control
On October 8,2006 the Varna Community Association (VCA) Board of Directors passed
the following resolution on deer population control:
Resolution on Deer population control
The Varna Community Association Board of Directors acknowledges that the current deer
population has resulted in damage to plant materials and vehicular accidents. The Board
therefore endorses deer population control as sanctioned under Department of
Environmental Conservation regulations through means appropriate to areas including
hunting, fencing, trapping and fertility control and culling, provided such control program
(s) includes community education and input, identified funding for five to ten years, and
objectives by year based on determined initial benchmarks for evaluation of effectiveness.
