All applications for awards are due October 23, 20136. In accordance with the priorities established by TCCOG, the County will act as lead agency to apply for a Health Insurance Incentive Award under the SMSI program. The SMSI program is designed to provide funding to support the creation of local health consortiums. TCCOG has set an initial project goal of creating a local health consortium thart will save taxpayers dollars by providing affordable health insurance for all municipalities in Tornpkins County. lt is anticipated that this project willtake at least one year and wilf include hiring a consultant to lead TCCOG through an extensive analysis and design process. To assist you in explaining the project I have attached the Depaftment of State's derscription of the SMSI Healtil'r Insurance Award Program and their summary of frequently aslrcd questions.
