Cross, Zoning Officer RE: New Sign, 903 Hanshaw Road REPORT: A zoning permit application to convert an existing sign from the "Corners" sign to "Island Fitness" at 903 Hanshaw Road has been denied because the sign would exceed the 10 sf allowed for an individual business by the Village Zoning Ordinance Section 17.13.2.e: SIGNS. The proposal is to convert the existing sign at the Corners Community Center driveway on E. Upland Road, which is part of the allowed (including pervious variance) sign area for a "shopping center" by Section 17.13.2.f. The applicant is seeking a variance to allow the sign to be converted as requested. Therefore, a Public Hearing has been scheduled on May 6, 2013 @ 7:00 pm at Marcham Hall, 836 Hanshaw Road to hear comments on the proposed variance.
