To whom it may concern:
I apologize for putting up a fence at our borderline of our property. We did not know at the time when
we went to Lowes to pick out our fence to protect our dogs from outdoor wildlife that there was a
variance on height of fences at that time. The Lowes staff helped us pick out fencing and estimated the
cost of having it professionally installed. We now realize we were naive under the direction of Loews
that we should have checked into Cayuga Heights Village fence laws on our own.We were under the
assumption that the fence was ok.
We are looking to get an area variance for a 6 foot high fence that doesn't have a 90%opening at a 0'
property line and a center 15 feet from front property line.
There are many trees and shrubs on the exterior of the fence that pretty much covers and extends our
fence from the neighbors' property line. So, if I'm looking from the side walk down my neighbors'
property lines I pretty much see mostly trees and shrubs covering most of my fence and overgrowing
the fence. The part of my fence that sticks out past the 15 foot line from centerline does not obstruct
any view from pedestrians on the sidewalk walking by.The shrubs proceed further than the fence and
around the fence area.So if you're looking from the fence straight out,you will see shrubs before the
sidewalk.
I feel that my fence does not impact my neighborhood in any way good or bad. I hope that you will
consider the variance for me. If you need any further information please feel free to call me anytime at
607-227-6109.
Sincerely
