HomeMy WebLinkAboutEmails from B. Cross re. 903 Hanshaw Rd Signs Brent Cross From: Brent Cross Sent: Monday, August 01, 2011 3:53 PM To: VCH-ZBA Cc: 'Kristin Gutenberger;Angela Korbel Subject: ciaschi sign area TO: ZBA Members I have measured the existing signs and calculated the total area(s) . Zoning Section 17- A.B.2.f says "If there are more than 2 businesses on a one parcel under the ownership or control of one firm, involving a shopping center or other multi-use facility, ONE free standing sign shall not exceed 18 sf for the parcel as a whole. . . . " There are 4 (not just one) existing signs that are subject to compliance with this section. The gross total area of these 4 signs is 30.68 sf. One of the existing signs is proposed to be replaced by new Sign A, therefore, the gross total area of the existing signs will reduce to 24.0 sf The new Sign A is 28 sf and the new Sign B is 48 sf. When added to the existing sign area, the new gross total area would be 100 sf spread out over 5 separate locations. Almost 1/2 of the total area is represented by the new Sign B, which is a directional type of sign to help customers (that have already entered the "shopping center") to find their intended destination merchant. The current zoning language does not identify such signage separately, so I have had to include.it with the gross total area of the signs subject to zoning section 17-A.B.2.f. 1 Angela Korbel From: Brent Cross Sent: Monday, August 01, 2011 3:53 PM To: VCH-ZBA Cc: Kristin Gutenberger; Angela Korbel Subject: ciaschi sign area TO: ZBA Members I have measured the existing signs and calculated the total area(s).
