My home is next to theirs on the uphill side on Sheldon Road. Since they moved in they have been continuously improving their yard, which is quite a showplace and a joy to the neighborhood. The fence they chose to erect on the Sheldon Road side of their yard is very attractive and appropriate. It fits well with their house and plantings. I am writing because I will be out of town on July 5.which I believe is the date of the hearing on Mrs. Tavelli's request for a variance to install a gate in this fence so service vehicles will have access to the yard. I support granting Mrs. Tavelli this variance so she can complete the fence with a gate which will allow access for service vehicles. I hope you will grant her request. Sincerel , Susan Y. Her plan is reasonable. The zoning board should grant this variance. As you know I am Holly's most immediate neighbor on the other side of Sheldon Road. I have watched Holly and her late husband Phil develop a marvelous garden over many years. Holly has continued the good work on the garden and it is a joy to see bloom, develop, and grow each year. As anyone who takes gardening seriously knows, it is an evolving effort. The Tavelli Garden has been just that and the addition of the fence last year evidenced a sophistication in design that I have seen in gardens I have visited both in the US and abroad. The gate will conclude that phase of Holly's garden design adding a substantial dimension to the project. Please share this letter with the members of the zoning review board. Yours truly, Garry Brodhead 811 Triphammer Road 7/8/2011
