A review of Town of Ithaca bills was made as a basis for an estimate of the value of
equipment service the Village received from the Town of Ithaca for the Village fiscal
year June 19 1966 through May 31, 1967.

Use on average equipment cost per hour of $5.50 for 1966 -67. .239 x $5.50 = $1,314.50
To be added to this is.the use of Town equipment for which the
Village supplies the operators, air compressor and old front -end
loader. It is estimated these pieces of equipment were used a
total of 200 hours a year. Their average rental charge is
estimated at $4.00 per hour. 200 x $4.00 - 800.00
The mower was used an estimate of 100 hours at a rental of $3.50 x 100 = 350.00
TOTAL for fiscal year 1966 -67 $2,x.50
For Village fiscal year 1967 -68

Use on average equipment cost per hour of $6.00 for 67 -68 498 x $6.00 = $2,988.00
Use of air compressor and front -end loader 200 x $4.50 = 900.00
Use of mower 80 x $4.00 = 320.00
TOTAL for fiscal year 1967 -68 $4,208.00
Because of sewer line repair and replacement work and sidewalk work, street repaving
for 1968 -69 will be at a minimum and should not be considered as an average.
The fiscal year 1967 -68 was in my opinion about an average year, maybe a little low.
For an average year, in round figures, I would use $5,000 (at current Town rental
prices) for the annual cost to rent from the Town the equipment it hae, it has let
us use at no charge in the past because we pay into the Town Highway tax fund
Items III and IV.
During a year when a major road rehibilitation is undertaken this figure of $5,000
could double as it did in 1965 -66 when Oak' Hill Road was rebuilt. (gee Engineer's
report to the Mayor of 12- 13 -65)
Town will relieve us of certain items of highway taxes in Items III and IV
This will.save,.Villagers approximately $18,000 in Town Taxes.
We will now bear highway maintenance costs as follows:
Equipment rental $59000
Labor and necessary expenses are•
already paid by Village. 5 000 = $.21
This cost to Village is $5,000 22, 10
These translated into an annual tax equals $.21 per M to the Villagers. Under the
Town tax that has applied to the Villagers the rate per M has been $1.38 to .81
for the year 1966 to 1968.
