ENGINEER'S REPORT
February 19, 1968
1. The Village has received a request for a change in the sign at the Mobil
Gas Station on Ranshaw Road. This sign as it is now, overhangs the Village
Right -of -Way. It is my opinion that the present sign should be removed, and
that permission not be granted to erect a replacement sign in the same
location.
2. A request has been received from a real estate agent representing Mr.
Leonard B. Libermaa' asking specifically what the Village would build in the
way of a sewer line from the Liberman marina area to the Village Sewage
Disposal. Plant. He was informed of the stipulati.cn and agreement of
October 9 between the Village and Leonard B. Liberman, that the Village would
build a forced main to ca-ry the sewage from the marina area to the Sewage
Disposal Plant. A rough entimate of the cost of this would be in the
neighborhood of $6,000. This amount has not been provided for in.the Village
Budget as we do not know whether it will be necessary to build this sewer
line this year.
3. In reviewing the Sewer and Water Charges for this year it was evident that
some readjustment of the charges be made in the Williamsburg Park area. In
areas where the water lines were installed by the contractor, the land owners
who were on land previously not benefited will be charged the charge based on
the total land and building value but will not pay the average width of lot
charge. The money raised from the total land and building value assessment
goes towards amortizing the cost of the pumping station, stand tank and
operating costa of the water lines.
4. The sewer charges based on average width and on land value should be
reviewed to make sure that the Village policies are consistent, particularly
in the northeast part of the Village where there has been development since
the original construction of the sewer lines. The problem would be somewhat
similar to the water charges. I hope to get the opinions of the Board on this
matter at the next meeting.
5. Questions have been raised by land owners as to the responsibility for
doing the trimming along the road right of way. The Village Ordinance covering
this is not clear and in some places conflict. An opinion of the Village
Attorney is requested.
