Snowfalls that came at night during the Christmas vacation, New Year's Eve and the weekend of January 6th and 7th required overtime for removal from the roads and sidewalks. Equipment is working well but constant repairs are necessary on the salt spreader. New employee, Paul Gardner, has been doing much of the mechanical reapir work on the trucks. Installation of at least two bays in the Village barn and heating of these bays should be considered in next year's budget to allow maintenance of vehicles without hardship on the men. This would also solve a constant winter problem of starting trucks and other vehicles during cold weather. 2. A formal proposed contract has been received from Charles Collins for use of his dump at the rate of $250 per month. A report on the possible use of the City of Ithaca dump will be made at the Board meeting. 3. Village Attorney has requested the computation of all water charges that are due to date from the Town of Lansing and /or the landowners in Lansing, that have been or were connected to the Village water system. 4. Request from Lowell George, Police Chief, to remove 27 signs that do not conform with the State Manual, and also the erection of 33 new signs, the replacement of 21 non - conforming signs and raising the height of 26 signs, has been received. Work on these will progress when possible. 5. A letter has been received from Dwight A. Webster of 400 East Upland Road requesting payment by the Village for damage sustained by an alleged stoppage in the Village sewage line, in the amount of $130.83. •
