HomeMy WebLinkAboutSpec Mtg. Minutes 6/17/196651 MINUTES of a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village.of Cayuga Heights held on Friday, June 17, 1966 at 4 P.M, in the Village Office. Mayor Marcham opened the meeting, regarding the application of Chase and Hewitt to lease the property at 840 Hanshaw Road to Scotch & Sirloin to be operated as ft restaurant and cocktail lounge, by referring to action taken by the Board of Trustees on July 23, 1959, when the restaurant was permitted at the Corners' Community Center. The following resolution was read and discussed: "Voted to approve the application of'the Corners' Community Center, Inc., by Mr. W. C. Heasleyi Jr. in his letter of.June 30, 1959, to establish a restaurant -dairy bar at the Corners, with the conditions that no on -the- premises (premises defined as all commercial property owned by the Corners' Community Center, Inc.) consumption of beer be permitted and that the closing hour shall be no later than 10:00 P.M." ' Trustee Bebbington advised the Board of his connection with the financing agency backing Chase and Hewitt and inquired if he should disqualify himself in the matter. The presented plan of operation for the restaurant calls for dining room . service until 10:00 P.M. but with the cocktail lounge operating until 1:00 R.M. . There was a discussion of Trustee Lewis' proposed five stipulations which were as follows: 1) Hours - close at 10:00 P.M. 2 Get rid of bar - only have service bar . 33 Limit time of permission, say 5 or 10 year term 4) Reduce stress on liquor 5) Control lights for parking lot The Mayor said he would entertain a motion to either accept the application to operate the restaurant (grant it as presented) or to reject the application. If question of conditions is to be raised, should not be included in our answer. Should be done later. MOTION was made, seconded and carried to reject the'applicatiori for permission to operate a restaurant at 840 Hanshaw Road as it was presented. Three.. voted yes - Lewis, Randolph, Marcham).
