MINUTES of a Special '.Recessed Meeting of the Board of Trustees held February 279
1962 at the Village Office, 194 Pleasant Grove Roads at 5 :00 P.M.
PRESENT: Mayor Marcham; Trustee Norton; Engineer Rogers; Treasurer Upchurch and
Attorney Newman.
'
Since there was not a quorum, the Mayor and those present reviewed informally the
suggested tentative budget made up at the meeting of February,23, 1962 and made
recommendations
for revising some
of the figures, pending acceptance or amendments
by full Board.
^
Engineer Rogers
asked for $2;500
for a leaf pickup. The Mayor and member of the
z -a 7ay
:l
Board present agreed it would be desirable to purchase a leaf pickup. (To be financed
13ith garbage packer over 3 years)
Treasurer Upchurch suggested we take a look at status of surplus and perhaps es- 1
tablish a reserve fund to use surplus up in May. After discussion decided to make
appropriations to existing reserve funds of Sewer, Water and Street Improvements.
Attorney Newman left since no more trustees came to complete a quorum.
Sewer Fund expenses as budgeted add up to $489800 without Contingent Fund. Looks like
it would be necessary to increase sewer rent 30 %.
Water rates could be reduced about•25% on last year's rates, which were .27 per foot
and 1.50 per thousand of Total Assessment. 25% reduction would result in a charge
of .20 per foot and 1.15 per thousand.
