MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held at the Village Office
on October 15, 1962 at 7:30 P.M.

117. VOTED approval of minutes of September 17, 1962 previously'-furnished
Trustees in mimeographed form. , , 11
118. VOTED approval of Abstract of Audited.Vouchers as followss-General,Fund,
$13,568.79; Sewer Fund $39390.06; Capital Fund -Sewer $109600; Capital Fund'$129221.53;
Trust and Agency Account $19249.82.
119. .VOTED - Resolved that the I'Village of Cayuga Heights Capital Fund- Sewer"
account in the Tompkins County Trust Company of .Ithaca, New Yorkt' be and hereby is
changed to "Village of Cayuga Heights - Capital Fund."
.Further resolved that any two of the following officers be authorized to,sign
checks as heretofore named on former account-Le. Mayor or Acting Mayor,,Treasurer or
Acting Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer, and Clerk.

121. VOTED to approve provisional appointment of William V. Marvin to position of
police patrolman.
Report of Police Commissioner for month of September 1962 was read and placed on
file in Clerk's office.
122. VOTED approval of additional cost of paint striping machine of $140.50, total
cost being T6W.50.
123. VOTED approval of membership of Frederic M. Upchurch in New York.State,
Society of Municipal Finance Officers and to pay annual dues of $10.00 for such member-
-, ship. .,
124. VOTED to agree with M. P. Catherwood's letter regarding fencing.of Route 13
and his sentiments and the Mayor on behalf of the Board of Trustees to request Mr.
Catherwood to present this point of view to the proper authorities in Albany.
125. VOTED to authorize John S. MacNeill, Jr: of Cortland, New York to conduot•a

preliminary inspection of the problem of surveying the east line of the Village at a
cost of $5.00 per hour, with the object of indicating the total cost of running a sur-
vey.
126. VOTED to request Attorney Newman to reply to letter from City Attorney re-
garding the request to transfer Sheldon Road tank and site.to Village advising him no
taxes have been collected by the Village on this property. .
Engineer Rogers.reported bids on construction of pole -type steel garage to be
erected on the Village Storage Yard at Sheldon Road were opened and publicly read at
12 noon October 15i 1962 as follows::

129. VOTED approval of purchase.of 1,000 large 4¢ stamped, printed envelopes at
a cost of $4F70.
130. VOTED on recommendation of Fire Council, and acceptance by Town'of Ithaca,
to approve 1963—figure of $2,655.77 as cost to fire protection district in Town of
Ithaca.
131. VOTED to refund 1962 -63 sewer rent and penalty,,total $63.00, to Arthur
1 Muka, 113 Kay Street since he has not actually connected his.plumbing to Village sewer
system.
Whereas evidence has-been received of an error made on the 1962 assessment roll
due to the appropriation of real property for highway purposes (Ithaca -Etna Route 13)
by the New'York State Department of Public Works, assessed to L. B. Liberman which was
assessed for $2,000 whereas same should have been zero;
132. VOTED - Resolved that the assessment on the parcel bounded on the north by
Smith, east by Smith, south by Village of Cayuga Heights and west by Village west
boundary line, assessed to L. B. Liberman be stricken from the 1962 assessment roll.
133. VOTED to request Mr. Newman to approach Mr. Adams and render a report on
status of our protest relative to Mr. Liberman's Marina.
134. VOTED to cancel Contract with.City of Ithaca for use of City Dump effective
January 19 19.
135. VOTED to request the Mayor.to look into the matter of securing the-Hilda
Smith property on North Sunset Drive for a park for the Village. '
