Marcham Trustees N. F.Christensen James F. O'Connor T. F. Sharp James R.Simpson Engineer Carl Crandall Treasurer Frederic M. Upchurch Town of Ithaca Assessor Ben Boynton 1. No bills presented for approval. 2. Voted - WHEREAS, The sound economic development of industrial, research and residential facilities in the northeast area of the Village of Cayuga Heights, Town of Ithaca and that section of the Town of Lansing comprising the Tompkins County Airport area is desirable for the general welfare of the greater Ithaca community, AND WHEREAS The lack of public water and sewer facilities particularly are a deterrent to such development, AND WHEREAS It appears desirable that the present public water and sewer facilities of the City ofIthaca and Village of Cayuga Heights be utilized and expanded to provide such public water and sewer facilities, AND FURTHER THAT The City of Ithaca, Town of Ithaca and Village of Cayuga Heights desire to jointly participate in preparation of a preliminary engineering plan for such expanded water and sewer facilities, NOW THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY Resolved: That the Village of Cayuga participate in such planning and the Trustees hereby authorizethe appropriation of not to exceed $300 from the contingency account of the general fund budget for such purpose. 3., Engineer reported on progress on sewer and treatment plant contracts. Note was made of sudden death of Professor H. M.Gi£ft, designer of the Treatment Plant. 4. Clerk reported a) Extension of sewage disposal agreement with City of Ithaca has been executed by both parties. ' b) Federal aid had been denied on Treatment Plant. A. Treasurer requested and it was VOTED - to appropriate from General Fund Account 101 -440 the following' amounts to be credited to: Account 103 -410 Snow Removal - $2.55 104 -440 Shade Trees - 57.35 5. Trustees VOTED to notify all property owners by postal card of the 1957 Village assessment, requirements for filing complaints, and grievance day. 'Also VOTED to continue veteran exemptions as last appeared on the assessment roll. Also VOTED to continue to keep separate alphabetical listings in the tax roll for the "old" and "annexed" village areas: Also RESOLVED to sit as Board of Assessors to consider and assess Village properties for the 1957 Tax Roll. Doing so, considered separately properties in the "old" village, starting with the alphabetical listing; and continuing to Brainard, Paul. Recessed at 9:55 P.M. until January 3, 1957'at•7: P.M. W. S.
