PRESENT: H.J.Shirey, Mayor A.W.Chamberlain, Trustee F.G.1Iarcham, of S.S.Atwood, " Carl Crandall, Engineer. i 1. The following bill was approved for payment: HIGHWAYS College Chevrolet Co., Inc. 3.50 2. Mayor Shirey reported a• request from the Colberts for an extension of time to 60 days from date of notice 1'1 start of penalties on the Board's finding of Feb 16, 1954, that they were in violation of the Zoning Ordinaries and the permit. Followin& discussion, during whieh`it was agreed that this was a reasonable request, IT WAS VOTED that the minutes of the meeting of Feb 16, 19540 page 15, line 42 be changed to read - "be 60 days after the date of notice." The Engineer was to so notify the Colberts upon receiving confirmation of this action from the Clerk. It was also noted for the record that the date of notice to the Colberts was Feb 18, 1954. 3. The Clerk reported on progress made toward opening of the Village Office , and of tentative arrangement withIdirs. Scheel to serve as Secretary. In order that this matter could be concluded, IT WAS VOTED to continue I.irs. Edith Scheel as Secretary, State Civil Service Classification - Non - competitive - Typist (Part time), at an annual salary rate of $1500, on a monthly basis of a work week of 23 hours, at the Village Office. The daily hour schedule to be arranged on a mutually satisfactory basis to meet the needs. 4. The Mayor and Engineer reported on the meeting held by District Engineer Robinson of the State Dept of Public Works, to get the official reaction of the various local goverments to the several proposed State Route 13 cut -offs that have been_atiidied. Attention was given to a topographic map which showed the various routes. The difficulty of following the old Short Line right of way, by.creason of excessive grade, unless intersection was made at the top of the Esty hill, was pointed out. In order that the position of the Village Board could be available to Assemblyman Ashberry, who had called a meeting"£or the purpose of trying to reconcile the local differences of opinion as to the proper location of the cut -off,' IT WAS VOTED RESOLVED that in the interest of community harmony and in support of the desire of the City of Ithaca to accomplish the construction of Plan B - Route 13 cut -off, the official government of the Village of Cayuga Heights is willing to accept this location. 5.
