MINUTES of a regular meeting og the,Village Board held on
Tuesday, Sept 15, 1953, at 7:30 P.M. at the home of Mayor Shirey,

1. .The minutes.of the meeting of August,.18,were read and
approved.

4. Upon recommendation of the Mayor,
IT WAS VOTED that the revised•Resolution to accept
Country Club Road as a Village Street be adopted and entered in
the minutes.

5: The Treasurer reported a cash balance "on August 31st
of $33,203.15
6. The Engineer..reported new stop.signs were ordered, that
he was getting a quotation on,,street`signs,,had.`ordered . a
cinder spreader: for $373.50, and that the,road re- surfacing
program was under way. Assessment .rates�weie.discussed, and
the results of�a study on comparative assessments`in the City,
Town and Village were made available to the Trustees for their
guidance.. "
7. The Clerk reported on printing of Village Ordinances and
IT, WAS VOTED.to•have i000 ordinances and 1500 zoning maps
printed at a cost of about $225.and a.00py mailed:,to' every
taxpayer of the Village.
IT WAS VOTED that C.I.Sayles, as Chairman, Robert Kane.and
W.S.Randel, ex- officio, constitute a Committee to conduct
negotiations with the City of.Ithaca.for the 1954 Fire.

on the Police OPficerts can with adequate insurance as suggested �1

The clerk was requested to investigate and report baek.on proteotion
for the Village for legal liability arising, out: of .the'use of
personally owned cars off Village employees`, and officers on Village
business.
IT WAS VOTED,to'reimburse..the Police Comm. for 3.50 for phone, and

10. At•the Public Hearing'on the amended. Traf£ic Ordinance,.there z:

IT WAS VOTED that ,the amended ordinsACe as _ attached herewith be'
adopted, effective,October.15, 1953.
11. IT WAS VOTED that a. meeting for the purpose of :compiling the
assessment roll be.held at 7:00P.M. at the Tompkins Co Tiust.Co on'. :..'
October 13, 1953, following dinner at 6:00 P.M. at the Hotel Ithaca.
12. IT WAS VOTED that the neat regular meeting be hihild on Nov 17 1953 ,
at 7:00 P.M. at the School House."
13. IT VIAS VOTED to accept the resignation of W.S.Randel as Village
representative on the Greater Ithaca Action Committee, and. to appoint
Lincoln Reid to the position.
14. IT WAS VOTED that the Engineer have•stop signs install6C:as called..
for in the amended Traffic Ordinance,.as soon•as procured:
15. The,Engineer,was asked to look into the possibility of having the
Town handle maintainance of Village roads, as the.Town has.the avail-
able equipment with some less usage than in previous years: >+i
