MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Village Hoard held on
Tuesday, May 13, 1952, at 7 :30 P.M. at the home of Trustee Randel,
1002 Triphammer Rd.

,1: The minutes of the April 7th :meeting.were read and
approved with:one correction noted: the salary of Police Officer
Van211e.is $2,475,per year, plus 0800 car allowance.,.

4. Mayor Shirey.reported,that Mr.. Fred Rogalsky h'ad
delivered to him a'deed signed by. the following:: :Sherwood -Holt,
' Maxine 'P. Dean, Fletcher H Woodcock, Sarra M Woodcock, „Fred A.
Rogalsky, R. P. Driscoll, Margaret H: McPhersoh.., This'document,
which was in non - recordable form, deeded to the Village sufficient

property except for land owned by, the First Congregational
Churoh and Lakeland Homes, to enable >the,Village.to.construot,
or to permit construction of; the proposed' Country C1ub.Road.
Mayor Shirey stated,tiat it'was'a,.queetion whether or'not.'the
deed should be. accepted by the:! Village, and. invited, di, ussion
of the matter
After full consideration, IT WAS VOTED.that,.the Village.
should not accent the deed as abo've�described,`and the .Clerk was
requested.to write- a.letter to Fred Rogalsky.and..'explain to him .
the reasons for such non - acceptance:
5 -' Treasurer Guise reported a balanoe.in the General Fund
of $4,965.76
6., - The Engineer reported -that he` was' advertising for bids
for the new truck, and that such bids were due May 23rd..
The Engineer reported that the property of Tau Epsilon Phi
,
at 306 Highland Road had been cleaned up in accordance with the
order sent them:
The Engineer reported he had issued a permit. to Prof.. C. I.
Sayles for an underground.pipe repair;_ permit to Elmer Stickler .
for a street opening on Hillside Drive to lay, a.water main,`and
.a permit for the construction of a house.on Han'shaw Road on
property purchased from Prof. Finlayson. He reported that the.
Cicchetti house on Cayuga Heights Road had been sold to Prof.
Louis Toth for approximately $40,000; that the Mason. Jiouse at
509 Wyckoff Road had been sold to Kappa Nu, and that Mrs. Mabel -
Smart had sold her house at 205 Cayuga Heights Road"to Harold
Pratt.

The Engineer also reported.that he had issued a :permit,.for.:
a house to be constructed on the southwest corner of East Upland

4. The,Treasurer reported a cash balance'in the general
fund as of May 31st of $3,863.41, stating that.this was.the_,low,
balance for the year as tax bills had been mailed out June;lst
and taxes for the new year were now coming in at a rapid rate.
The Vreasurer reported that he had received..the final.payment
on the Northway Road curb and gutter aeeessments; thus the. three
year program for paying.off this project:is. completed: .Inasmuch_
as tax moneys are now in,hand
ITYWAS.VOTED that the pay.the City hydrant
rental,and the fire service contract of $3,703.06.
The Treasurer reported that James:A, Knapp had sold his.

lot on Devon Road to Frank-B. Howe, Sr.,:and•that Prof. Knudson
sold"his lot bounded on the north by. Foster,, on the "east by Cayuga
Park Road,''south by Cayuga Park 'Circle, and. west by-Foster to
John B.<Rogers 3rd and "Anna 11.:, Rogers He reported -that` Delia' Stone
sold her':house "on the.: Parkway to James-F. 0106nnor. .`
5.-;The-Engineer reported that hi6. application for a six inch
water.. main on'Hillside'Drive to'replace`the 2-inch :main had been
approved by the.City and.the pipe laid; ;and they:had also installed
A hydrant''.; He reported that there had been many delays in getting
Hillside Drive open for traffic but it had.'just now been ` accom -
plished: It was 'understood: that Mr. Stickler must repair the road
at this 'time'. with gravel "and• eventually when settling hae' occurred

• "The'Engineer reported that bids.had been ,received for-'the
purchase of'a new truck as follows: prices quoted being net after
allowance for a'trade -in on the old truck.'`

.The College.Chevrolet Co. being the low bidder the Engineer
reported that he had awarded the contract.to'this firm with
delivery expected in 'a few weeks.;
IT WAS:VOTED-to pay.the College Chevrolet'Co. the amount of,
their bid, namely $2,299 upon delivery of 'the truck,if.it met
specifications`
The Engineer reported that when Mre.`Cicchetti sold: her house
to•.Louis Toth she retained a small portion of the lot which was
large enough for the construction of a new..house which she proposed
6o build,.and the Engineer said that as .would Dorris within the

Initial sewer assessment due.:;
IT WAS VOTED that the initial•s ewer .,connection fee, for
Mr. Indelicato,'s new houses on the east, side of Triphammer:Road
should be assessed at $100•.per house:
6. It.was reported that.the Cayuga Heights Water"District \`, .
Improvement Association' was, still, active: and dis.cussing..the
matter of petitioning.the- Village,for the inclusion of ,their area
within the Village limits, though no'vetition had yet1been received,.
and a general discussion ,.followed;,regarding, the merits -of •the' "
proposal.
7. The Clerk read the letter that lie had written�to Mr
Fred Rogalsky:regarding: the refection of the, offer:of certain
property owners bordering on the proposed ",Country Club Road,to

deed a portion of their property to the Village f4r.the,00nstruction
of the proposed road, and.a copy of this letter is attached
herewith to these minutes.
8. IT WAS VOTED that the,next,meeting would be held on
September 2nd and upon invitation of Mayor Shirey it will be
held.at his home.
