HomeMy WebLinkAboutSpec Mtg. Minutes 11/20/1951r 1m MINUTES of a.speoial meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights, held on November 20, 1951 at 7 P.M. in the schoolhouse. 1. On this date the Board of Trustees sat for four hours from 7 P.M. to 11 P.M. as a Board of Assessors to hear grievances and complaints with.regard to the assessment roll as prepared by them for the Xear 1952 and as filed with the Village Clerk on October 29, 1951. 2.. Complaints were received from the following: a: S. C. Hollister regarding the assessment on his property at 417 Highland Rd. Bounded N- Simpson E- Driveway S- Morrison W- Highland Road Allan Treman and L. N. Simmons appeared on behalf of the claimant and presented arguments for a reduction in the assessment of his property. ACTION: IT WAS VOTED not to change the assessment of S. 0. Hollister. b) W. 0. Geer regarding the assessment on his lot on Cayuga Park Road Bounded N- Village line S- Geer W- Cayuga Park Road Allan Treman and L. N. Simmons appeared on behalf of the claimant with the request that the so- called pie shaped lot of Dr. Geer, now assessed at 6500, be reduced to 0250. ACTION: IT WAS VOTED that the assessment on the above lot be reduced to $250 and that'the assessment on Dr. Geer's 1 1 laboratory b�eyincreased from $9,500 4. IT WAS VOTED WHEREAS: Th e Heights, acting as assessors of th e resolution previously adopted, have for 1952 and filed it in duplicate prior to November let, 1951 and I t.t tI to Village Board of Cayuga said Village according to a prepared an assessment roll With the Clerk of the Village WHEREAS: The Clerk caused a notice to be published in the official newspaper of the Village and posted. In. five conspicuous places in the village before November S, 1951 a notice that the 1952 assessment roll was filed at his residence, 102 Northway Road, Cayuga Heights, New York, where it might be seen until November 20, 1951 and WHEREAS: On the said 20th day of November a Grievance Day was held and the said Board met from 7 P.M. until 11 P.M. on the said day, two grievances submitted and changes made as disclosed in the minutes of the said Board, now therefore be it RESOLVED that the said assessment roll as now prepared and verified with the assessor's oath be now completed, verified, and ordered filed with the Clerk, in the total amount of 03,232,253, ighich includes land and buildings, less exemptions as-per column 12 of the assessment roll. 5.
