HomeMy WebLinkAboutSpec Mtg. Minutes 10/23/1951MINUTES of a special meeting of the Village Board held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1951, at 7:30 P.M. at the office of ' Engineer Crandall. PRESENT: C. J. Kenerson Mayor W. S.'Randel, �rustee Sherwood'Holt,`Trustee C. I. Sayles, Trustee Sanford Atwood, Trustee C. H. Guise, Treasurer Carl Crandall, Engineer 1. Engineer Crandall reported that he had received a request from Mr..Indelicato from the Highland Road Construction Co. for a permit I to construct s4 &P&% ousing units on.the east side of Triphammer Road north of Pine Hill Road'and se h of the Bradfield property: Mr. Crandall explained that these were two family houses, that would either be rented or sold, and the plans called for buildings that wouldreonform to-the zoning ordinance.ot the Village on the opposite side of the, street. As this situation was.in conformity with the previously stated policy.of the•Village, IT WAS VOTED to instruct Mr. Crandall to issue the ��-a ..tea permits and.inform Mr. Indelicato that the sewer assessment would be the usual charge of $150 for each two family unit. 2. The Engineer stated that Mr. Collins would no,longer be able to do the mowing and snow plowing for the Village and wished to sell his equipment to the Village for approximately $2,000. The Engineer.stated that he thought this work,could be_ done by the Village workmen if the Village owned equipment and if they were paid extra for the additional work. After consideration of various types of new equipment that could be ' bought, 1 0 1 M IT WAS VOTED to authorize.the.Engineer , to,buy,'a new tractor with grass cutting.and snow plowing :accessories at an amount approximating $1,200. :3. The Engineer brought up for discussion• the. proposal• to employ professional appraisers for every piece .of property in_ Tompkins County at a cost of' $70,000. After a full discussion of this matter IT ..WAS VOTED that the Trustees express no:opinion regarding the poseib ;e ,employment of professional appraisers for: all county, property.. ;. 4. The Board of Trustees, acting, as a,.Board of. Assessors, considered each property.separately and completed assessments as far as Hespelt. The meeting recessed at ll olclock to re- convene on Monday, Oct. 29th at 7:30 in the office of Engineer Crandall to complete the assessment roll Clerk.
