MINUTES of a regular meeting of the.Village Board held on
Tuesday, Sept. 11, 1951, at 7:30 P.M. at the home
of Mayor
Kenerson, 102 Iroquois Place.

Mayor. Kenerson. reported that,he.had.received an
,application from Howard A.. Harvey •for...the position of,Police
Officer if arid'when the position becomes open. Mr. Crandall
pointed out that this position is under Civil Service.'and should
the position become vacant it would be necessary for.the Civil
Service Department to hold an examination and we'would be,
required to choose one of the three highest from the eligible.
list. It was reported that Police Officer VanZile is rio longer
a Deputy Sheriff.
5. Treasurer. Guise reported a_cash balance as of August
31st of $19,090.69 and stated that as of the eurrent'date all
taxes are in except from seven property owners.
Treasurer Guise stated that he thought it was the duty .
of.the Trustees to look into.the matter of retirement,for the
Village workmen. It was bmought•out that they are not el4i.ble
for Social Security and it was decided to determine if..they
might become members of-the State Employeesf.Retirement'System
and if so to ask the workmen if they would wish to loin
Clerk Trousdale' was requested to determine.if they; wbre'.eligible
to- join.

6. Engineer Crandall reported that he was proceeding with
the.extension of the Triphammer Road sidewalk to the south, and
hoped the budget "allotment of 02,000 would carry.'the work. to
Iroquois; Road. The proposed walk has been staked out and the
work will: be, let on; contract as soon`as' the eite:;is ready.. .The.
Engineer said he had agreed with Mr. Chaney.to move his ,hedge back
which is in the way, and that Mr Grinnell "proposes to. -trim or
move :.his:.trees.at.his.own'expense.
7. Police,, , Justice Shirey,-reported,.that Mrs ;.Frost had -lost
her, strong box''in'.whioh she had some valuables.but that the box
had been found the same day in her own house.
g. The next meeting.was scheduled.for October. 23rd at
7: 30•P.M: in the office of Engineer Crandall �It,:was,agreed
that the: Trustees would.meet first.at 6:15 P.M. at. the' Ithaca
Hotel for dinner.
.9. There being no further business.the..meeting was
adjourned at 9:55 P.M.
