7. The Engineer reported that Prof. Waage was going to build
a house
on Comstock Road. While the house would
be partly
in the
Village
the sewer and water connections would be
made at a
point
on Comstock Road outside of the Village. He said that the water
and sewer lines on Comstock Road outside of the Village had been
paid for by the residents of Comstock Road and therefore he
recommended that no sewer or water assessments be made against
Prof. Waage but that he be subject to the usual sewer service
charge.
IT WAS VOTEDthat Prof. Waage should not be assessed for sewer
or water connections.
9. The Engineer reported that he had not yet purchased the
tractor for the Village as he was not sure that the one he had in
mind would be powerful enough to be satisfactory. He explained
' that one with plenty of power to. do. the job would be much more
expensive and very apt to damage lawns.
The Engineer reported he had issued a building permit to
aak &10
Paul Ankrum for construction of a house on :ulghla *d-Road.
9. The Clerk brought up for discussion the fire service
contract with the City of Ithaca, stating that a preliminary
calculation according to the formula would result in a cost of
$4,577 for the year 1952. As this seemed to be an exorbitant
charge the Mayor requested the former committee of Trustees Randel
and Sayles to examine the figures and negotiate with the City
authorities. to see if it would be possible to get a revision of
the formula to keep the cost at a more reasonable level.
' 10. The time set for the next meeting was January 9th and
by invitation of Trustee Atwood will be held at his home.
11. Adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
Clerk.
