Engineer Crandall reported that he had a request from Mr. Indelicato to have the Village remove.the'garbage from the, Pine Hill Apartments. Mr. Crandall.stated that at the present time the Village truck was.taking.2i loads of garbage to the city dump and by picking up this, garbage it would not therefore inorease the-number of trips to the dump_and would be a good financial arrangement.for the Village if.,Mr. Indelicato would pay 0200 a year. IT WAS VOTED that the Village workmen be authorized to remove the garbage from the Pine Hill Apartments at a fee of $200 a year,such charge to begin October 15th, with the under-­ standing that this arrangement would be on an experimental.basis and would undoubtedly be cancelled if it became necessary for the Village truck to make an additional trip to the.city dump because of this additional garbage. It was also agreed that Mr. Indelicato should be billed at this time for months which will carry the billing to the end of the Village fiscal year. �maarct d u o,.B." wa w eehnC 0 -V% " sq- 2. The Board of Trustees, acting as a Board'of Assessors, considered each property separately and completed the Villagge', Assessment Roll for the year 1951 and filed the roll with the Clerk. 3. The Public Hearing'to consider the proposed new ordinances was called to order, by Mayor Kenerson at 7d30rP a." with ' approximately, 29 residents, of the Village present'in addition to the ;Trustees and. officers of :the `Board. Upon request of the Mayor, Clerk Trouedale read each proposed ordinanoe and'the rssidents.were.given opportunity between the reading of, each for comments and discussion. '.Following discussion and the'Mayor.thanked the residents for,attending� the the hearing was adjourned at 9 :59.P.M. The regular meeting ,of the Village. Board: started at 10, P.M. `PRESENT: 0. J. The Trustees considered all the suggestions made by the residents of the Village at the public hearing and decided that a committee ehould.be appointed to further investigate article 6, section 3 for.possible revision. Mayor Kenerson,appointed.a committee consisting of Trustee Holt, Engineer Crandall, and Police Justice.Shirey to study this matter and bring in.a report at the next meeting. 2. The minutes of the Sept. 19th meeting were read and approved., The minutes of the meeting of Oct. 17th were.read, and approved with the following item added: "The Engineer..reported that.Mrs. Morris Bishop desired to purchase a portion'of.-the lower.end of Sunset Park and that he-had informed her that.this 60 property was given the Village by Mr. Jared Newman, and probably the deed contained a restriction limiting its use for park purposes. He said he, referred her to Mr• Charles Newman.n 3. The following.bills paid on authority of the Mayor were approved:. GENERAL . Edward. Thompson' Co. 10.00 H M. Driscoll Lumber Co.' 4. The following additional.bill was approved: HIGHWAYS ' McKinney Agency, Inc. 112.12 5. Treasurer Guise reported ,a balanee'on'Sept. 30th of $14,777.49• ` 6. The Engineer reported that he had had difficulty in getting a contractor to start.work on the Triphammer Road sidewalk but had been told work would proceed on October 25th. The Engineer said it was proposed to complete this' fail the sidewalk from the corner of Northway and•Midway Roads north to the Village line and from the corner 0f.Triphammer;and Eas t Upland Roads to the driveway o'f Prof. Clearyls house. The.Engineer.i•eported that there were two trees.in the Village that should be removed ana %that there were both-:' telephone and power lines running through them..' One was in front of Mrs. Weaver Ia house on Kline Road and the other in • front of Prof. Parratt's house on Wyckoff Road. He said a ' proposal had been made to have one -third of the expense of removal paid by the Telephone Col, ohe, third by the Gas & Electric Co. and one -third by the Village. IT WAS VOTED to authorize the Engineer to proceed 'with. the . removal'of..these.trees, :the expenas to be.borne.as outlined above. A.discussion followed regarding Hallowelen, and it was the opinion:of:the Board that Officer VanZile should have some . assistance tow help prevent damage to property. `The Engineer recommended that the Village employees Haskins and Hayes be enlisted to "'aot as extra.guards on Hallowe en night. The Engineer reported.that Jim Collins left for Florida on Oct. 15th and would not return until spring. 7. .Mr.` Shirey as Clerk of the Zoning Board of Appeals said that the Zoning Board of Appeals had found Mrs. Werder in violation'of the Zoning Ordinance and stated that the. Board would make a report on the matter to the Village Trustees at the next meeting. S.. The Clerk read a letter from Dr. William C. Geer in which he objected to the posting of notices on telephone poles as an outmoded.method of notifying the:residents of meetings. The Clerk was requested,to answer Dr. Geer's letter and inform him that the.Village was endeavoring to have Assemblyman Ashberry get the law amended. 9.1, A discussion was held'on the proposed fire service. contract with the city of Ithaca for the year.1951 and Mr. Randel reported that the price according to the formula.would be M166.07,-, 62 IT WAS VOTED that the Trustees enter into ,a new contract with the city of Ithaca for fire service for the year 1951 ' in the amount of $3,166.07 if•upon investigation it develops that the figures furnished by.-the City for use in the computa- tion are correct. 10.
