C. I. Saylee, Trustee L. C. .Kent, Trustee Sherwood Holt, Trustee W. S. Randel, Trustee C. H..Guise, Treasurer Carl Crandall, Engineer The minutes of the Feb_. 7th meeting were read•and approved. The following bills paid.on authority of the•Mayor were approved: GENERAL Williamson.Law.Book;Co., POLICE FIRE & WATER McKinney Agency, N.Y.State!Employees' Retirement System SANITATION Stevens service Station HIGHWAYS Hull Heating & Plumbing Co. The following additional bills were approved for payment: GENERAL The Ithaca Journal 2.56 HIGHWAYS State Insurance Fund 452.21 4. Engineer Crandall reported that the question had arisen as to whether or not Mrs. Cicchetti.had violated the Village ordinance in building a new residence on Triphammer Road, inasmuch as it contained two apartments on the first flocm and'one . apartment in the.basement. He said that the way. the present zoning ordinance is written it would be difficult to prove, she had violated it. The Clerk was requested to ask Mr: Shirey to 1 31 give the Board a written opinion'as to whether he thought Mrs.. Ciochetti, had violated the ordinance The Engineer suggested that a. n ew, ordinance be written: that would spell out more specifically the " rules, govern Ing:construction:of houses containing apartments and IT:WAS ; VOTED, that at the. next; meeting of' the, Board this matter be.pre sent ed on the agenda The' meeting adjourned in.order'that the Trustees might attend the public meetIng.of the residents of the Village at 5:15:. The meeting..was re- convened at 545 5. The Treasurer reported that he.had sent. his financial` reports in.. to. the State for the past fiscal year and he exhibited 'a new account book,for the inspection of the Trustees. 6. The.Clerk reported that Police Officer VanZile had resigned as dog warden. IT WAS VOTED that'this resignation be accepted. 7. IT WAS VOTED to increase the salary of Police Officer VanZile $150 per year mgking.a total salary of $2,250 effective for the year beginning March 1, 1950. 5. The Clerk called attention to the letter of Dr. Spring` written Nov. 2nd regarding sanitary conditions adjacent to the Village in the vicinity of Sheldon Road. It was decided that the.Clerk should write Dr. Spring and ask for reports of any recent investigations he had made in this.matter: 9.. With regard.to.the petition of the First;Congregational Church for tax exemption on the property.,that the Church'had recently purchased in:the Village it was decided that the.Clerk -. . should write Mr. Fogg'and inform him that the Village'.had no authority to exempt the property based on the :informat ion , 32 furnished in his recent letter. The time set for the annual meeting of the Trustees was Monday, April 3rd, at •7 :30 P.M. in the schoolhouse and IT WAS VOTED that the budget hearing be held on the same date. 11. IT WAS VOTED that the tentative budget be recommended to the new Board for adoption. 12. Adjourned at 9:03. P.M. Clerk. 1
