Shirey', Police`Justice 1. The minutes of the meeting,of.May 4th'were.,read and . approved. 2. , The following bills.paid on authority of-,the Mayor were approved: GENERAL J. B. Lyme - 13.22 HIGHWAYS W. D. Lyme 13,23 - Driscoll Lumber Cor 4. The Mayor reported the receipt of a" 43.18 letter from,County . Health Commissioner Spring in which he thanked the .Mayor and the __ residents of Cayuga Heights for their cooperation 'in'the.rec'' 2, anti- rabies dog vaccination clinics. Along with the letter he furnished two tabulations, indicating the number of,dogs!.vacoinated, licensed and .inocculatedi. for the last 5 years. •The:.material was ordered filed by�the Clerk. 5. 'The.Treasurer.reported alcash balance on.MaY,31et of, 0817.43. and stated that approximately 08,000 had come in in taxes since that'-date. 6. The,Engineer reported.that the workmen had been busy..,; recently clearing and trimming branches at corners for.,the better vision of automobile drivers. He also stated that the :new': gas mains had been laid and that no appreciable damage had. been done.' anywhere except Prof. Ralph Curtis' lawn which was badly cut up' but that arrangements had been made by the Electric & Gas corporation to repair it: The Engineer reported.the following.property.transfers;' the H.' H. Scofield house on the Parkway sold,to A. F. Ross, the G.' W. dunningham house on Highland Road sold'to Harry•Copeland, the Putney house.on Hanahaw Road sold to James W. Murphy, Prof. Charles Palm's lot on corner of Devon Road and Hanahaw Road sold, to James Knapp, Clifford Williams' house at 511 Kline Road sold to Paul Weaver, the Seymour house on Sunset Drive sold'to Gilbert Weeks,,the Prof. Ogden house on Hanahaw Road.sold to Asa Knowles,, the Sherman Peer house on Highland Road sold to James.Rothechild:' 7: After discussion regarding the re- surfacing of Village streets, IT WAS VOTED to authorize. the Engineer to negotiate for the re- surfacing of certain Village streets within the budget „ allowance, the Engineer to determine which streets were to.be . 1 3' re- surfaced. respect. The Engineer reported that he had issued a permit to Mrs. Cicchetti for the construction of•a new house at 118 West Upland Rd. 8. The Trustees discussed the advisability of a program of constructing curbs.on those.streets in the Village that are without curbs and those that would be benefitted most from the standpoint of,,appearance, water run- off,.,and street preservation. It was brought . out that it is the policy of the Village to assess 75% of the cost.of such.improvements to the property owners and 25% to;the,Village. The-Engineer stated that payments by property owners might well be spread over a three -year period.to ease the financial burden on the. individual property.owner. It was suggested that the Village might issue certificates of indebtedness to cover the expense until recovery could be made from'the ' property owners for their share. As.one of the streets considered for future improvement was Northway Road, IT WAS VOTED to request the Engineer to get estimates on the cost,of installing curbs on Northway Road..; 9. Police•Justice Shirey reported that since the last meeting he had imposed a,#15 fine and a $25 fine for.speeding within the Village. 10..The Clerk reported the receipt of a letter from Prof. Feller in which he explained why he had not yet connected to the sanitary sewer system in accordance with the Village ordinance. Because of the reasons given by Prof. Feller. IT WAS VOTED that he should'be given an extension -of time until Dec. 1, 1949 to comply with the.Village._ordinance in,-this respect. 0 11. Sherman Peer stated that inasmuch as he had sold his property within the Village he felt impelled to resign from the Board in order to comply with the law that a Trustee must be a Village property owner. IT WAS VOTED TO accept Trustee Peer's resignation with great regret. The Trustees then individually expressed to him their appreciation for his service and their r egr et that he found it necessary to resign from the Board. 12. Upon Invitation from Police Justice Shirey it was voted to hold the next meeting at his residence on July 21st at 7 :30 P.M. 13. Adjourned at 9:52 P.M. Clerk. 1
