6. The Treasurer.reported:a balance of 118,477 ".:85 as,of,June_
30th The:Treasurer also turned over to ,the Clerk a list of
property ,changes.:'which ` he had. learned about in connection with

? The Treasurer xeported the "receipt of a:letter from Oharles
H. Newman, in which he.. called, :attent ion 'to .the change in the4State'
Law -with'regard.to tax exemption "for those property, owners
pensions.,, According to Mr. Newman.! a letter' and ,according
notice received ;from Alb the pension exemption, law -,wae amended
,by ,chapter. '86 of. the Laws.., of..1946-t , o make ?such property exempt'from

taxation for highway, purposes. Mr. Ne�vman paid h tax billiless,,
$1.88 which . according to.the.new::law was correct.
IT WAS VOTED that ".S Cleary, H ;.R: smart., and H L Gilman,

the other. pensioners, should:be refunded their overpayment of -taxes
and it was, also voted to accept Mr.. Newman's tax payment, which was
;1.88 short according to the bill bui.correct'An view of the new law.
8.. Treasurer Guise reported that:he had.received from the
State Comptroller a form entitled "Annual .;Debt St ate ment":and that
he had .completed and returned the same to Albany,..,.
9. Treasurer Guise read'a`letter..that..had.been, received,
proposing the establishment of, ,a State Association '.of`Village.
Officials.. In this proposal the Village,wae.requested.to.join the
proposed association.if interested. After. due'considerat`ion the
Trustees voted that. they were 'not_interested.in'joining'at. the
present time, as they did`not. see, . any immediate benefits -
10. The Engineer reported that he 'had granted a: building.

The Engineer found'that it would be possible to engage city men
to use oil within the Village of Cayuga Heights for mosquito'control
at a cost of $50 and had requested the .city to do the work.,
IT WAS VOTED that the action of Engineer Crandall'in'regard '
to the expenditure of $50 for mosquito.'control for the`Village be
approved. .
The Engineer reported that Glen VanZile, the V111age:workmari,.
had resigned.„
The Engineer reported, that the first lot mowing was.riearly
completed.'.The Engineer reported that Gleason & Knight:stated
that they would surface 'the roads in•the Village 'but that no price,
had yet been received. The Engineer said that he would pursue the,
matter further and try to make arrangements for surfacing the streets.

The Engineer reported that th'e application of W. M. Curtiss
for an addition to hie house had been granted by -the Zoning.,Board
of Appeals.
11. IT WAS VOTED that the next'.meeting of the Trustees be
held on Sept. 9th, and upon invitation of Trustee Randel it was
decided to hold it at his.residence.
